Saturday School was full! Chico City Parks Division hosted a Sustainable Trails Workshop that attracted a dozen volunteers. Trail Labs’ Andrew Pellkofer presented an informative daylong class and field training. Thanks to attendees from the city and community who came out to learn more about building and maintaining trails. Through partnerships with the city, other non-profit groups, and volunteers, Chico Velo Trailworks wants to do our part to maintain and create sustainable trails in Bidwell Park. As the 3rd largest municipal park in California and the 14th largest municipal park in the USA, the park is a priceless natural resource to care for and enjoy. Chico Velo supplied lunches from Kona’s Sandwiches while Coffee Ranch donated the coffee. If you want to get involved, follow us for upcoming events and/or message us for more information. @ Bidwell Park

The Meetup.com group enjoyed sunny skies this weekend in Upper Bidwell Park The Iris's and Pipevine were in abundance along the Annie Bidwell Trail, and the butterflies were out and about along the Yahi Trail. The creek crossing at T ford was too swift and high to cross safely, a bridge would have came in handy, but we were able to cross further down the Annie Bidwell Trail to join the Yahi Trail.
